I really thought the Legends of the Summer Tour would be my last hoo-rah before school started again but it wasn’t.
I had the “53 Kids” event with Jameel McClain, where he donated 53 backpacks stuffed with school supplies to BBBSGC Littles. Not to mention the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington! (Check out the photos here> http://flic.kr/s/aHsjHU1LNz)
Then at the last minute I found out that Carly Rae Jepsen and The Wanted were going to be performing at the Maryland State Fair. Tickets were really cheap so I thought why not?! I definitely can’t forget about the Grand Prix! That happened to be more fun than expected. I mean fast cars, free stuff, I couldn’t resist! (Check out the photos here> http://flic.kr/s/aHsjHTUonD )
Lastly, I found out literally the day before the show that Ciara was coming to town to perform in DC for FREE! So you know I had to be there! It was at the 9:30 Club and it was apart of AT&T’s Nations Football Classic Kickoff Rally. Apparently, this football classic happens every year between Howard University and Morehouse College football teams.
Thus not only did I get to see Ciara for free, but I also saw both of the schools marching bands and cheerleaders plus Wendy Raquel (Tasha Mack on The Game) and Fonzworth Bentley (Diddy’s old assistant), as they were the hosts.
Needless to say, Ciara’s performance was amazing. She really knows how to put on a show and she can dance her a** off! The highlight of the night was when she gave my friend and I the mic to sing the chorus to “Ride.” What an unbelievable feeling! Check out the clip below at the 1:25 mark:
Also here are videos I recorded of her performing “I’m Out” and “Body Party.”
The semester has officially started, I guess playtime is over… long sigh.
