To take my Beyonce fandom to the next level, I decided to see the superstar in her hometown of Houston, Texas.
Best decision ever!
Not only did I secure a VIP ticket for me, myself and I but I also made it a weekend getaway, staying three nights and four days.
My Flight
I booked a straight flight from New York to Houston with Jet Blue. Of all the airlines I’ve flown with, Jet Blue has the best service. Here’s why:
I didn’t have an assigned seat when I checked in, which is rather normal nowadays. Thus, I approached the attendant once I got to my gate and she asked “Are you willing to sit at the emergency door?” I said “No.” I mean who says, yes to questions like that? Lol Then she asked if I wanted a window or aisle seat. I said a window seat because I like to control the window. She finally assigns me the window seat in row 5.
Once I got to my seat, I didn’t realize how close that was to the front. I really felt special. Not to mention it was an “even more space” seat, which basically has more leg room. That’s a seat you usually have to pay extra for.
If that wasn’t enough to put a smile on my face, when the attendant came around with the snacks, she gave me three bags of Doritos and two cans of cranberry juice! I mean, yes, I was being greedy but it was free and given the amount of chips in each bag, I felt no shame.
Getting Around
One of the best parts of my trip was driving this little car around. It’s a Kia Rio. It’s super fast (trust me, I was whipping it) and amazing on gas. I had about a quarter of gas left by the end of my trip. It also had a usb outlet and aux cord plug-in to keep my phone charged and for blasting Beyonce through the city of course.
My Hotel
Ever since my 25th birthday party, I really only like to stay at Embassy Suites because they have free breakfast and a free cocktail hour. Plus, the rooms are super big. But I also like to stay there because the service and staff are always really nice and welcoming.

Places I Visited
House of Blues – Houston
Nope, I didn’t go to Houston just to see Beyonce. Well, I originally did. But then when I saw Teyana Taylor was going to be in town, I had to get a ticket to see her too!
These prices got me! Drinks were a little more expensive but those $4 cinnamon-sugar pretzel bites were bomb! They give you a lot of food too.
iFly – Houston
Probably my favorite part of the trip next to the concert itself was going indoor skydiving.
Contemporary Arts Museum – Houston
This was the only museum that was free lol
Frenchy’s
Still not interested in boudin lol but I’m pretty confident in saying Frenchy’s has better biscuits than Popeyes, Bojangles and Red Lobster. That says A LOT!
The Breakfast Klub
I waited an hour in this line for some of the best breakfast food I ever tasted! And that’s REAL bacon!
Beyonce – Formation Tour
I felt special lol
I bought a Beyonce tank top and pins.
The show was everything! From start to finish, Beyonce really outdid herself. I really don’t know how she keeps getting better and better. She definitely downsized her band but upped the theatrics.
I also saw Jay Z and Blue. They walked right pass my section. Plus her dad, Mathew Knowles, was walking around the stadium with no security or anything.
