On this day, one month ago, I moved to New York.

It all started last year on November 24 when I interviewed with The Museum at FIT. I remember going into my interview and being completely honest. I told them that my goal was to have a new job by the end of the year and I meant it. I’m happy that I was completely honest because it showed me that when you speak things into existence and go after what you want, the universe complies and conspires to give you exactly that.

Due to HR technicalities, the job was closed and reopened and I had to reapply. I’m thankful that during this time, my supervisor was completely open with me about the process. It wasn’t until late January that I was offered the position. I told them I wanted to start in March as I had projects with my current job at that time I needed to finish. Looking back on that timeline, I only gave myself a little over a month to pack up all of my stuff, say my goodbyes, find a place in NYC and get settled. That’s a big deal for me and I’m super proud of myself!

One month down and I have no plans of returning back home, except to visit of course 🙂

I’m in love with my job, the work that I do and of course this city that never sleeps! Every weekend, I find myself exploring a new part of the city and meeting new people.

I never thought I’d move away from DC. It’s not that I didn’t like it there. But I’m happy for this opportunity to grow and finally be on my own.
